Title: Hyperon Production at CLAS

Keywords: hyperon kaon spin observables Lambda(1405)

Abstract:
The photo- and electro- production of higher-mass baryon resonances that decay to hyperons and kaons offer a special window into the N* spectrum.    Using the self-analyzing nature of the hyperon decays, together with polarized beams, various single and double spin observables have been measured.  We will examine recent data from CLAS, including cross sections and spin observables.  We will also examine new results on the lineshape of the Lambda(1405), which is a hyperon that may show signs of being a composite meson-baryon object.  Results for the production of several other excited hyperons, such as the Sigma(1385), Lambda(1520), and the Cascade resonances, will also be shown.
