•  Weather in late September in Beijing

It is still hot in Beijing in September, but it will be chilly when it rains. Sometimes the temperature changes drastically. You are kindly advised to check the weather before you trip.

•  How to get to the IHEP guesthouse and Changfeng Holiday Inn

The most convenient way to get to the IHEP guesthouse and Changfeng Holiday Inn from Beijing International Airport is by taxi. There are clear direction indicators at the airport pointing to the Taxi waiting points at all the terminals. Most international flights will arrive at Terminal 3 (T3) while some may arrive at Terminal 2 (T2). The Taxi waiting point at T3 is located at the ground floor and you should take the elevator to get there. At T2, the Taxi waiting point is just outside the Arrival building.

Please always take the taxis at the waiting points, and DO NOT follow those who invite passengers to take their taxis at the Arrival Gate. Those taxis are generally unauthorized ones. Sometimes, you may have to queue for a while at the Taxi waiting point, but generally it just takes a couple of minutes to get into a taxi.

The distance between the airport and the IHEP area is about 45 -50 km , and it takes about 50 minutes with ordinary traffic condition. At rush hours, it may take more than one and half hours. The cost is about 140-150 yuan including the toll fee (10 yuan). It may be a little bit more at rush hours.

•  How to get to the conference site

•  Registration time and place

The registration time is from 3pm-6pm on September 20. The place is the 2 nd floor of the IHEP Main Building . It has been marked out in the direction map. If you arrive late, you can also do the registration in the coffee break on September 21.

The registration fee for each family member is 120USD. For family members, you will enjoy a reception, a banquet and an evening culture event, a conference excursion.

•  Internet access during the conference

Wireless access to the internet is available at the conference site. The instruction will be available in the conference package. Internet access is also available at the hotels.

•  About the reception

Upon the registration, you will have the conference package including two invitations to the Conference Reception on September 21 and Conference Banquet on September 24. The Conference Reception will be in the IHEP Restaurant and the Conference Banquet will be held in Changfeng Holiday Inn.

•  Excursion on September 23

There are 2 routes arranged for your option for the excursion on September 23.

Route 1 : Visit the Ming Tombs and the Badaling Great Wall.

09:00am :Tour departure

10:00am: Arrive Ming Tombs(Chang ling tomb).Spend a hour at Chang ling tomb.

11:40am: Go to the restaurant .

12:00am-1:00pm :Visiting a cloisonné work shop and having lunch.

13:50pm: Arrive the Badaling Great Wall and stay there for 90mins.

15:30pm.Return back to town (90mins driving time).

On the way to your hotels, we also arrange a short visit to "the birds nest"---the main Olympic Stadium now being built for the 2008 Olympic Games.

17:00pm: At hotel

 

Route 2: Visit the Forbidden City ( Former Imperial Palace ) and Temple of Heaven

09:00am: Tour departure

09:35am: Arrive Forbidden city .

09:40am-11:40am: At Forbidden city.

12:00am: Go to restaurant by bus.

1:30pm:Visiting Temple of Heaven. (60mins)

2:30: Back to hotel or take free activities.

•  How to get to the airport after the conference

You can ask the Front Desk or Reception Desk of your hotel to book a taxi for you to the airport. It would be better to make the reservation one day earlier before your departure. You can also ask the Conference LOC to book a taxi for you. Please contact Ms Lei Dang (email: dangl@ihep.ac.cn ) if necessary.

•  Publication of the proceeding

The conference proceeding will be published by Chinese Physics C as a formal edition. T here will be a peer review procedure. The deadline for submitting the proceeding is November 20, 2009. We have to keep this date strictly in order to reduce the publication time. The detailed instruction will be available on the web after the conference, and one has to follow the journal template to produce the required format.
