People with serious heart diseases not go there and people with light
heart troubles follow doctors' suggestion. People with high or low blood
pressure follow doctor's suggestion. Try to keep healthy and not to catch a
cold before entering Tibet. Try to keep healthy and not to catch a cold in
Tibet. The first day arriving in Tibet, suggest visitors not take a bath and
smokers not smoke. Drink plenty of water in Tibet for the first few days. Tell
in time the guide when you don't feel well and follow guide's advice. The
sunscreen, sunglasses or dark glasses and lip creams are advised to protect
your eyes and skin, for Tibet's high altitude and the atmosphere allow the
sun's solar radiation to strike the earth with unusual intensity. In addition
to the normal medications for traveling, just like the Aspirin and Ibuprofen
etc, you should bring some high altitude medication. Better ask your doctor for
suggestions.

How to avoid
and treat the high altitude sickness?
1.
Please try not to strain yourself and avoid excessive working before taking
Tibet tours.
2.
Take the prescribed medication before reaching Tibet and continue to take the
medication upon arrival there.
3.
Avoid drinking coffee or alcohol, and taking sleeping pills in the high
altitude areas.
4.
Drink plenty of water or tea.
5.
Eat high-carbohydrate foods (rice, pasta, cereal) while avoiding fatty stuff.
6.
Avoid active movements and try to relax in the first one or two days upon
arrival at the high altitude areas.
7.
Diamox® 125 mg. tablets taken twice a day is F.D.A. approved for prevention
and treatment of A.M.S. Although it originally was released as a diuretic
(water pill), it also helps you breath deeper and faster. This allows you to
get more oxygen. Diamox is especially helpful with the sleeping problems and
other symptoms of A.M.S. Avoid sleeping pills because they may cause shallow
breathing at night and make it more difficult for your body to absorb oxygen
while you sleep.
8.
Use Oxygen to relieve symptoms.
9.
If nothing else works, return to the areas with the lower elevation.

Ya Xiu Market (Yashow) is a paradise for bargain hunters
in Beijing, a big draw for the tourist with some money to spend and some
serious shopping to do too. It is located to the west of Sanlitun bar street in
the northeast of Beijing.
Xiu Shui market reopened for business in its shiny new 5
storey shopping mall on March 19th 2005 (or thereabouts) replacing the infamous
original outdoor Xiu Shui market.
In doing so, it has become the inner city's one stop tourist shopping
paradise. It's name is now written
in English across the entrance as simply "Silk Street".
World's largest pearl market
Hong qiao Market also known as the Pearl Market,
is the place to go for cheap pearls. While there are stalls that sell
electronics, it’s pretty safe to ignore them as prices are more or less
the same as back home. Just head up a few floors to the pearl vendors. Note
that the majority of the pearls here are farmed freshwater pearls which are of
lower quality than salt water pearls so bargain accordingly.
